To move? or Not to move?..... that is the question.
We are trying to decide if we should move back to Garland. I guess to better state that we are trying to decide if we want to pay $40 more a month for rent. Pros: close enough to walk to work/church, better tv, more space, better oven, by my parents, no more neighbors that share walls with us. Cons: more money, by my parents (just kidding), kelton will take over my husband. sigh, being a grown up is hard.

Photography props for babies....
My sister-in-law Mandi does a fantastic job at photographing families and babies especially. So in exchange, and because I have been wanting a good excuse to make some fun stuff, we decided I could make some stuff for her in exchange for getting some family pictures done. I had lots of fun making this stuff, I'd link patterns but I made most of it up. And I'm excited to makes lots more stuff, the possibilities are endless!

Cataloupe... I just love it!
I couldn't resist buying some cantaloupe at the store last night. It wasn't the best i've ever had but it was good. i used to think i hated cantaloupe, and if it's not ripe i certainly don't like it. i had the best cantaloupe at one of kelton's football games last year, i didn't mind eating the whole thing and having juice all over myself. I can't wait for the realy good stuff!

Marshmallow treats (we need to find a name for them)
I made these today for out camping in party. You take ~26 oz of camels unwrap them into a bowl. Add 1/4 cup butter and 1 can of sweetened condensed milk. Microwave a minute at a time(stir) until melted together. take marshmallows and cover them in caramel mixture then roll in rice crispies. space them on a cookie sheet until cooled down. They are yummy! i remember making them with my mom, other times with Derek helping we always ate more caramels then we unwrapped.
What do you say?
Yesterday while i was cleaning our spare room i heard our neighbor yelling for help! I ran over in a panic. she told me she had just gotten out of the hospital and went out to her car to get some errands done but her oxygen tank wasn't in there and she was out of breath and almost passed out. i sat there with her and helped her get stuff to her car, gave her my cell # if she needed any thing to call, and asked if i could get her anything. but i think what i didn't handle very well is that she told me she was dieing and only had 5 months to live. she has had health problems for a long time. i just didn't know what to say. sorry. that sucks. there are no words. i feel bad that she doesn't seem to have any family to take care of her.

Spring Skirt
I finally went fabric shopping at Joann's, thanks to Heidi! She gave me a gift card for my birthday (she spoiled me). The fabric was a line from the same person. i just grabbed them all, i usually wouldn't but they are perfect together. the waistband was the biggest pain in the butt, i sewed it three times! To save time i roll-hemmed the bottoms with the serger (actually my mom did) . i'm glad it turned out wearable. and it really didn't take too long.
Broccoli Cheese Soup
I made a giant pan of this 2 days ago for dinner. Needless to say this recipe will feed an army and can be reduced. I started by peeling 8-10 potatoes and cutting them into bite sized pieces, then a small bag of carrots chopped up. boil for 15 minutes. i added 3 tablespoons of dried onions. While that's boiling i chopped up 2 heads of broccoli and started steaming them in a separate pan. I drained off the water from the veggies until it just covered them and added a gallon of milk. Thickened with about a cup of flour(with water) added lots of salt, pepper and some more onion powder and some celery salt. add the broccoli and cheese (about 4 cups). it took me about an hour to make it all together. I never use a real recipe when i make soup - i just throw it together you could put other veggies in it too. it's important not to cook it on too high of heat, the milk separates and looks weird. it made a good lunch for the last 2 days.

a little thought about prayer...
I've had a rough time lately, I want something but haven't been blessed with it yet. So I decided to start reading the scriptures, I'll admit i have been really slacking with this since i got married. In primary we have reading charts to fill out if we read each day then we hand them back in for a treat at the end of the month. Anyways, that's why I picked them up. And I read a chapter in Jacob and went to put them away when they fell open to the Bible Dictionary. To Prayer. and I read this... "The object of prayer is not to change the will of God, but to secure for ourselves and for others blessings that God is already willing to grant, but that are made conditional on our asking for them. Blessings require some work or effort on our part before we can obtain them. Prayer is a form of work, and is an appointed means for obtaining the highest of all blessings." (for all of it click here). And it just sort of clicked. We have been paying our tithing and going to church but missing out on prayer and scripture study. Doing only half the work if you will. I'm trying to do better, hopefully God sees that and soon will poor down some blessings (I already have a ton I know). And if it's not what I want I know I'll be able to accept it better.
