the twins' birthday

Saturday we had a really fun time at Jaxson and Jasmines birthday party. it was a circus party and i have to say i really had fun playing with all the little kids. they turned 4, and they had a clown, she made balloon swords (the best part in my opinion). here's what i made for them.

Favorite song Friday... The Band Perry, You Lie

i'm going to start putting one of my favorite songs on every Friday. I love this band, their lyrics are just too witty. I love all their songs so you're going to have to get used to listening to them.

My dream house...

Every time i drive past this house when visiting my brother i want it. it's so beautiful, and the landscaping is amazing. it's on my someday list....

F! spring edition

at christmas time me and my friend were at joann's (the fabric store) and a lady was buying this big letter and wraping garland around them for her christmas wreath, well that got us to thinking and one thing led to another and we came up with the idea to decorate them for each season/holiday. I even made a black W for Stetsen and Bethany's christmas gift. I used the same spray paint i used on my tv stand. so here's the spring decor on it. I'm trying to get an idea for summer, i have some raspberries......

yummy sweet and sour chicken recipe

My mom found this website that has the best recipes ever! we've made a few things from it and they always turn out fantastic!  I doubled the recipe and feed a bunch of people, served over rice. here's the recipe link there's 2 different ways to make it one with the chicken fried and 1's not. i have made them both and like them both. it's spicy so next time i'm going to cut down on the pepper and adding some vegetables. just thought i would share! 

Mayci's Birthday Presents....

There's a cute little girl in the family that just turned 2. she LOVES the movie Finding Nemo so i made her a fun little toy. She also likes Tinkerbelle, but not as much and Nemo. I made up the dress up tinkerbelle costume from a pattern borrowed from my sister in law and a picture i found on line. it's a little big, and i learned from making this one so in the future i'll do better. the nemo pattern can be found here.

first experience in the scouting business

so we had our first den meeting yesterday. We had about 10 minutes to figure out what we were going to do. i procrastinated and then had an emergency so it left us in a bind, now i know to prepare myself better. Thank goodness for the leaders before us, they had something ready to use and we just winged it. there so much to do with scouting i just feel burried already. that's just the way it is with scouts i think. 

Ode to My mom

As mother's day approaches like all of us I'm thinking of my amazing mom. She's a very strong and determined woman. A lot of people think that she's not. A lot of people think my dad tells her what to do and that she follows along like a brainless zombie or something, but they obviously don't take the time to actually get to know her. She sasses my dad like none-other, she stands her ground, she has a brain in her head and she uses it. I'm glad for the example she is to me. When life seems unfair to her and hands her trails she finds others who have it worse off then she does. She taught me that someone always has it worse then you do, so don't get used to feeling sorry for yourself. She's the most creative person, and i get a lot of my creativity from her and my grandma. I'm thankful for it. She's got a strong testimony of the gospel. She has to to be willing to go to church every week and not understand all that's being said because she was called to go to the spanish branch. she set a goal to read as much out of the book of mormon as the missionaries were told to and she did it! I could keep going all day listing all of the amazing things she does and how amazing she is. I'm very thankful that i get to work with her every day. sometimes we can't hardly get anything done for laughing so much and other days we aren't as nice (mostly i'm not) as we should be. I'd call her every 10 minutes if we weren't already together every day. I love her very much!

I'm very blessed to have a mother in law who is so fantastic. She's tons of fun, and I'm glad she raised the amazing son that i married. She too is a great example of perseverance and testimony, along with acceptance and forgiving. Her family is a treasure to her, there's no questioning it.

In addition to my mother in law I get a bonus mom. That's how i think of her. Darren's Step mom is very loving and has a huge heart. I'm fairly certain she's going to maul me the day we announce we are having a baby.(not yet sorry). We have lots of fun going with the guys when they go "hunting" and looking for deer. And she always knows when i need to hear something. She's good to call and just talk to me.

So for all the "mom"s in my life i feel very loved and very grateful. I love them all and I hope i show it enough.

I have good intentions....

I meant to put up pictures of our new place but didn't take them before we messed up our house, it never stays clean for long. So just so you know those are coming sometime. hopefully sooner rather than later.

Can i share something that made my whole month?! possibly year!

i got this note from a girl in the young womens before we moved last time, so like a year ago, but she didn't know how to get it to me until we just moved back into the ward. I am deeply touched by this young womans kindness, and that she took the time to write me a thank you note means a lot to me. I'm not sharing it to brag or anything. i just wanted to share that little things like this matter a lot. i need to do better with these kinds of things.
